ChatGPT will fire junior developers?

I have been working as a Full-Stack developer for 6+ years.
Ruby On Rails, React, Vue, Django, Blockchain, etc.
After ChatGPT launched, got a lot of helps like code optimization, simple code piece.
GPT learn by learn every day.

Then, What happens in future?
AI will not replace skillful/senior human developers but fresher and Junior developer?
All developers start from fresh, junior level. It means death of IT engineer? LOL

Thank you.

First, let me clarify that AI, including ChatGPT, doesn't have personal intentions or motives, and it doesn't "fire" or "hire" individuals. It is merely a tool used by people and organizations.

The impact of AI on jobs, especially in the technology sector, is a widely debated topic. The introduction of AI, including models like ChatGPT, is likely to change the landscape of many industries, including software development.

However, it's not so simple as saying AI will replace all junior or entry-level developers. AI can certainly help automate some tasks and improve efficiency. For example, AI can help in code optimization or generating simple code snippets, as you mentioned.

But software development involves much more than just writing code. It includes understanding business requirements, designing software architectures, debugging complex problems, making strategic technical decisions, and collaborating with other team members, among other tasks. These are areas where AI tools are currently less capable, and they are often the areas where more experienced developers excel.

While AI tools might reduce the demand for certain types of basic coding tasks, they could also create new opportunities. For instance, there will likely be increased demand for developers who understand how to implement, maintain, and improve AI systems.

The evolution of technology has always been accompanied by changes in job markets, and the rise of AI is no different. This doesn't mean the death of IT engineers; rather, it represents a shift in the skills that are in demand. Just like how the rise of the internet led to new jobs in web development, the rise of AI will likely create new roles that we may not even be able to fully envision yet.

To stay relevant in this changing landscape, developers can focus on continuous learning, improving their understanding of AI and machine learning, and developing skills that are harder to automate, like complex problem-solving, strategic thinking, and interpersonal communication.

Remember, AI and automation tools are just that - tools. They are here to assist us, not replace us. We need to learn to adapt and grow with them to create a better future for everyone.
